Today Phil and I decided to take advantage of the fabulous weather (we hear it's about the same as GR today, only windy-er here) by playing with our Bocce ball set we got from some of Phil's aunts.
We went across the street to this great field and played three rounds. As we walked, we laughed about the last time we played, when Phil's mom seriously exclaimed "Phil, you're so athletic!" Bocce ball is NOT an athletic game.
I thoroughly trumped Phil in the first round. I was in fact, superior. He got me back by soundly beating me in round two, and he squeaked out a victory in round three. So, apparently he IS athletic...or something. Then we lay down in the field and soaked in the warm sunshine with the very welcome wind.
I am so thankful to have such a wonderful and fun husband to pass my Saturdays with.

Athletic?

As funny as it sounds (and I can hear my sister saying, "you're so athletic") in the Mellema family, bocce ball, knitting or even walking fast can be perceived as "athletic". Thank goodness for the VanDrunnen genes.
I hope things are going well. Thanks for taking good care of my nephew Philip.
