So, yesterday I talked generalities. Today, I’m mostly telling quick adventures of “settling in” (and other move to CO stories).
'''The Bread:''' As many of you know, baking deliciousness for my husband is an adventure. Last week, I successfully baked miniature sandwich bread, which he seemed to enjoy. Since that was a success, I decided this week to bake doughnuts. I thought I carefully followed the instructions, which called for ½ cup of thawed apple juice concentrate, but I was NOT paying attention and dropped the entire container of concentrate in. We baked that VERY gooey batch (which Phil still ate) and made a new one. These yeast, egg, and wheat free doughnuts are actually delicious!
'''The Desk:''' Ever since we got here, we’ve been searching for a good desk for me. I found one on Craig’s List this weekend, and we went to Fort Collins (about ½ hour away) to pick it up. The desk is AWESOME. It has lots of drawers and places to store things. And it’s solid wood. It’s not a large desk, but it is heavy. Very, very heavy. I wish I had pictures of the moving process, because I am sure it was humorous.
'''The Church Search:''' We really must accept the fact that Keystone Greeley does not exist. We went to a church where we knew people. The community was wonderful. They even had an intermission! But the service… well, if you like call and response, stand up sit down type of services, then you would like it. But since we don’t… I’m just not sure what to do anymore.
'''V-Day:''' Philip did an amazing job with V-Day last week. Roses, steak fajitas, candlelight… he does an great job of making me feel special. I practiced my photography skills with the flowers – hopefully we’ll get those posted on Facebook soon, since the flowers are pretty and I’m kinda impressed with my budding (haha) photography skills.
'''The Hike:''' We took an easy hike this week at Devil’s Backbone, which is a sweet rock formation in the middle of next-to-nowhere (and not quite to the mountains proper) on Saturday. It was a great little 3 mile jaunt. On the way, we found someone's lost, high-tech water bottle, which we promptly claimed as our own. Once again, pictures of this adventure will be posted and you should look at them to enjoy the beauty of our new hometown(ish) scenery.
That's about all the fun stuff that's happened. Ok, there's more, but if I tell it all right here, there would be no reason for you to call or email me!
